Snail

I made this little guy for earth day. People seem to love him.
SEriously, it was just me fooling around with the Wacom tablet.
Can you have a love affair with a technological tool?

As always, you can find him at etsy!

Jump. It's Not As Wide As You Think

This is a Joseph Campbell phrase. Isn't it beautiful? Well, this was my first usable design on my wacom tablet. Like it? Then stop by my etsy shop and pick up a button!

You are Beautiful and Somebody Out There Is Crazy About You

So many new button designs. Nigel gave me his wacom tablet and I am in illustrator heaven. I can paint, draw, redraw, layer... you name it... all with this silly little tablet. It's AMAZING. I'm not that good with fine lines yet, as it takes time to master looking at a screen to track your pen, rather than the ink on the page and the feeling itself. As I get better, I'm sticking to more colorful, simple designs... like this one of sunflowers.

You are BEAUTIFUL and somebody out there is CRAZY about you.

I did the button originally in bright colors, but also in pastel colors. simply by applying a semi-opaque white wash to the background design to mute the original.

This button is perfect for anyone who is feeling kicked in the butt by love, or maybe just because you know someone who deserves it (because you are crazy in love with that particular individual). It's such a happy button, hence the sunflowers. Reds, yellows, pinks, oranges... it's so warm and cheery. This button will make anyone smile!

Love is the Astrolabe of God's Mysteries

New button! Yes. Woo hoo. This one inspired by the beautiful thoughts of one of my favorite poets: Rumi. He says (oh shams, for you!) Love is the Astrolabe of God's Mysteries.

Yes, I like that one.

The button, well, there's some byzantine gold used as the fill for the lettering and I used a cosmos image for the background. It took some effort with the Gimp, my program of choice, but at last I got it.
The font, by the way, was a freebie true type one. How I love a good font!!!!

If you want to buy it, come to my etsy shop.

Spring Robin Button is off

As a member of the Paradise BNR, I decided to participate in the weekly challenge by including a button that features WINGS. Well, here it is: spring green robin.

The button features a young robin taking his first flight as he steps off the nest. He is done in a spring, pale green. The nest is a rich deep purple color. The background is grey. I was thinking of Keith Haring when I added the white lines around his head -- something about the energy. Well, it really fit.

If you want to buy it, you can click here to go to my etsy shop.

Originally, this was a painting I sold.

I Believe in Kindness. Also in Mischief. Also in Singing....

Brand new button on Etsy. Woo hoo! The phrase is by the poet Mary Oliver. It says I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Also in singing, especially when singing is NOT necessarily prescribed.

New Avatar?

Yes, it was time. The old was too small to see and didn't match my banner. So, this is just a slice off the banner. That said, I'm thinking even the banner needs a bit of an update... whiten the dog???

What do you think? Improved avatar???

Oldies but Goodies

This was the button design I put on etsy. I was reminded of it today because I heard the phrase, "We are all manifestations of the Universal Consciousness. EVERYTHING is a manifestation of the Universal Consciousness."

This is the button that embodies that idea.

It's called You are loved more than you know.

I made it as part of a series I called the Patron Saints. The idea was that we needed patron saints for today's world. People feel so unloved, alienated, not part of the world, not part of the universe. We need someone to remind us that we are all interconnected and we are all deeply loved.

To this day, it might be my favorite????

I rather love this one, more than most

I was so inspired by the phrase A Ship is Safe in the Harbor, But that's not what Ships are Built For. I realize I got the phrase a little off. Maybe I should correct that? Opinions? Thoughts? Anyway, here's what it looks like pressed.
